Elected to office on July 20th, 2010 and sworn in January 2011, he is a first term county commissioner who represents Pierce County’s Fourth District with a voter base of approximately 2300 registered voters.
He is a local businessman who started his contracting business in 1996 as a two man operation. The office started in his home and in 1998 he moved the business to the Pierce County Industrial Park. Started out doing all the books and paperwork himself with the help of his wife and now maintains a full time office staff.
He is a 1990 graduate of Pierce County High School. His electrical training was obtained through Altamaha Technical School while working for J&P Electric, Inc. He obtained a Non Restricted Electrical license for GA in 1995 by examination and at the time he received his electrical license he was the youngest person to hold a non-restricted license in Georgia. He later obtained his licenses for Florida and South Carolina followed by a low voltage license in GA. He has branched out into several other areas over the years including blueberry production, pine tree farming and real estate development. He participates and supports various ventures in the community including the Pierce County FFA, Pierce County Historical Society, Pierce County Recreation Department, Pierce County 4-H, and various work programs for students over the years. In 2011, he was named Pierce County’s Businessman of the Year by the Pierce County Chamber of Commerce. Anyone who knows him well knows that he would be the first to credit God for his success in business and life. He faithfully attends his childhood church Pleasant Hill Baptist with his family where he serves as a deacon He is humbled by the faith the community has placed in him to be elected to this position.
If you asked him to describe himself, he would say he was just a country boy with some modest success. In truth, if you asked others to describe him he is a businessman, a phenomenal father, wonderful husband, generous friend, and above all else a faithful Christian.
